Marble Queen Pothos Care Guide

About Pothos Marble Queen

The Marble Queen Pothos (Epipremnum aureum) is a tropical climbing plant with long, trailing vines and variegated foliage. This vine is native to Southeast Asia and thrives outdoors in hardiness zones 10-11. This beautiful houseplant is a relatively fast grower and can live for several decades with the proper care.

It’s an exceptionally easy-going plant, ideal for people new to indoor gardening. Keep it out of the reach of pets, since Marble Pothos can be toxic if ingested.

Pothos varieties are known for their lush vines, some variegated, like the Pearls and Jade Pothos, and some in gorgeous shades of green, like the Neon Pothos.

Pothos Plant: Benefits

Marble Queen Pothos Care: Growing Tips

Some of the major Pothos benefits include its resilience and low maintenance. Here’s how to care for this gorgeous indoor vine:

Marble Queen Pothos: Light Requirements & Temperature

  • Light: Medium to bright indirect light is the best choice for this plant. It will adapt to low-light conditions, but may lose its characteristic variegation. Direct sun can scorch its leaves.
  • Temperature: Grow your Marble Queen Pothos in average to warm indoor temperatures, from 65°F to 85°F.

Marble Queen Pothos: Watering & Humidity

  • Watering: Water your Queen Marble Pothos when the top layer of the soil feels dry. Never leave it sitting in soggy soil.
  • Humidity: The Epipremnum Marble Queen Pothos loves high humidity. Place its pot on a pebble tray, mist its leaves regularly, or use a humidifier.

Pothos Marble Queen: Soil, Fertilizer, and Repotting

  • Soil: Good drainage and soil aeration are important for the proper Pothos Marble Queen care. Mix perlite into the potting mix for better drainage.
  • Fertilizer: Feed your Pothos plant with a balanced liquid fertilizer each month during the growing season. Stop fertilizing during winter.
  • Repotting: Repot every 2 years into a slightly larger pot to give its roots more room. Don’t use a very deep pot, as the soil won’t dry properly.

Pothos Marble Queen: Propagation

Grow more plants from your Pothos via stem cuttings taken in the spring. Put them in water, changing it weekly, and plant in moist, well-draining soil once the cuttings develop roots.

Marble Queen Pothos: Problems and Pruning

Watch out for yellowing leaves, which indicate overwatering and possible root rot. Dry air can cause the leaf tips to turn brown and crisp. Spider mites and mealybugs could be an issue, especially in rooms with poor air circulation. Treat with insecticide if necessary. Trim the tips of the vines each spring to encourage bushier growth.

Marble Queen Pothos: Companion Plants & Placement Options

The Marble Queen Pothos is a stunning vine with dappled leaves that immediately adds a relaxing, tropical atmosphere to your interior.

Great to Place on

This vining plant looks exquisite when cascading from bookshelves or draped around a window. You can also train it up a trellis or pole. Its air-cleansing properties make it a wonderful choice for bedrooms.
