Pitcher Plant

Nepenthes spp.

Equal parts fascinating and a little bit wild, the Nepenthes Pitcher Plant is nature's most dramatic overachiever. Its exotic, hanging pitcher-shaped traps dangle like living cups from the tips of its tendrils, luring in insects with sweet nectar and doing the kind of work most houseplants would never dream of. It's a genuine conversation starter, a natural pest catcher, and one of the most uniquely captivating plants you can own — proof that the plant kingdom is so much weirder and more wonderful than we give it credit for. Give it humidity, bright indirect light, and a little room to hang, and prepare to be endlessly entertained.

Pro-tip: To keep those iconic pitchers healthy and full, pour a small amount of distilled water directly into each pitcher occasionally to maintain their digestive fluid.
