Mounted Staghorn Fern on Wood Plank
A living wall sculpture that earns its spot the moment you hang it up. The Staghorn Fern is an epiphytic fern that grows naturally on trees in the wild — so mounting it on a rustic wood plank isn’t just a look, it’s actually how this plant is meant to live. Its bold, antler-like forked fronds radiate dramatically outward from the plank in a display that is organic, architectural, and completely unlike anything else you can put on a wall. Can be wall-mounted or propped on a shelf or tabletop — either way, it’s a statement.
Care Essentials:
- Water by submerging the entire mount in a basin of room-temperature water for 10–15 minutes every 7–10 days, then drain fully before rehanging
- Place in bright, indirect light — avoid direct afternoon sun and very low light
- Never remove the flat brown shield fronds at the base — they protect the root system and are a completely natural and essential part of the plant
- Mist the root ball between waterings to maintain moderate humidity, especially in drier indoor environments
Outdoors: Can be displayed year-round in Zones 9–12 in a sheltered, shaded spot such as a covered porch or beneath a tree canopy
Indoors: Best placed near an east or west-facing window, in a naturally humid room like a bathroom, or anywhere that gets consistent bright indirect light
