Black Bat Plant

Tacca chantrieri

NOTE: Bat Plant will NOT be flowering upon arrival

If you've ever wanted a plant that looks like it came straight out of a gothic fairy tale, the Black Bat Plant is your answer. Its dramatic, near-black flowers spread wide like the wings of a bat in flight, trailing impossibly long, thread-like whiskers that can stretch up to a foot or more beneath the bloom — a feature so wild it genuinely doesn't look real. It's rare, theatrical, and deeply moody in the best possible way, thriving in warm, humid conditions that mimic its tropical forest home. For the collector who wants something truly unlike anything else — this is it.

SM: ~4–6" tall in a 4" pot.
MD: ~6–8" tall in a 6" pot.

Pro-tip: The Black Bat Plant blooms most reliably when slightly root-bound, so don't be too quick to size up its pot. Consistent warmth is also key — temperatures below 60°F can stress the plant and set back blooming significantly.
