Product Description

Anthurium andraeanum

Meet our prized Pink Anthurium, boasting pastel pink blooms and delicate elegance! Its heart-shaped flowers are actually morphed leaves called spathes. Anthurium spathes are brightly colored to attract pollinators to the spadix (the flower spikes in the middle). It's fairly low-maintenance, and blooms can last for 2-3 months in the right conditions.

Medium to bright indirect light.

SM: ~12" tall and a 4" pot.
MD: ~18" tall and a 6" pot.

Pro-tip: Brighter light equals a brighter bloom. If it stops blooming altogether, it needs to be moved to higher light.

The Pink Anthurium (Anthurium andraeanum ‘Pink’) belongs to the Araceae family and is native to Colombia and Ecuador. If grown outdoors, this exotic bloomer thrives in USDA hardiness zones 10-11.

It features a spadix and pink heart-shaped spathe flower, as well as deep-green, glossy leaves. Known as the Pink Flamingo Flower or Lily, this gorgeous plant grows best in bright, indirect light and high humidity. It has a relatively long lifespan indoors of about 9-10 years.

A moderately easy-going houseplant, the Pink Flamingo Plant produces long-lasting blooms that can brighten any space. Beware that it is toxic to pets if ingested, so keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.

Pink Anthurium Care: Growing Tips

Caring for your Pink Anthurium plant is pretty straightforward, provided you maintain high humidity in the room. Flower production depends on correct light exposure. So, avoid placing it in a dimly lit location.

Pink Anthurium: Light Requirements & Temperature

  • Light: The Pink Anthurium tolerates morning sunlight without filtering with sheer curtains. Otherwise, keep it in a spot with bright, indirect light to prevent sunburn.
  • Temperature: Temperatures between 65°F and 80°F are ideal for Anthurium plants. Keep it, however, away from heating sources or cold drafts.

Anthurium Pink: Watering & Humidity

  • Watering: When the topsoil dries, it’s time to water your Pink Anthurium. Avoid overwatering this blooming beauty!
  • Humidity: Humidity of 60% is ideal for this tropical houseplant. To encourage lush growth and prevent brown leaf edges, use a humidifier during hot and dry spells in the summer months.

Pink Anthurium: Soil, Fertiliser, and Repotting

  • Soil: Well-draining soil mixed with bark provides good aeration and drainage for this pink plant, preventing root rot and leaf issues.
  • Fertiliser: For the best Pink Anthurium plant care, feed your plant once a month in the spring and summer with a slow-release fertilizer for blooming plants.
  • Repotting: Repot your Pink Anthurium every 2 years or when its roots seem crowded. You can multiply it and grow new plants during repotting.

Pink Anthurium: Propagation

You can propagate your Pink Anthurium by dividing it in early spring, once it has matured. Transplant each section with healthy roots in individual pots with nutrient-rich soil. Place the new plants in bright, filtered light and ensure the soil is consistently moist but not soggy.

Pink Anthurium: Problems and Pruning

Yellowing leaves are often caused by overwatering, while brown leaf tips indicate underwatering. Low-light conditions usually result in fewer blooms and stunted growth. Trim damaged foliage regularly to promote new, healthy growth.
